India faced Afghanistan in the first T20I match of the series at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali. India won the toss and chose to field first. Initially, Dube and Tilak Varma added 44 off 29 for the third wicket before adding another 45-run stand-off 31 balls with Rinku Singh.
