भारत में बढ़ी iphone की मनुफैचरिंग : Apple Explores Expanded Manufacturing Collaborations with Aequs and Rayprus in India
Apple is actively diversifying its manufacturing partnerships in India as it seeks to bolster its presence beyond China. According to The Economic Times (ET), the tech giant is engaged in discussions with Aequs Group and Rayprus Technologies for component supplies. Simultaneously, preliminary dialogues are ongoing with Dixon Technologies regarding iPhone manufacturing.
Tata Electronics currently stands as Apple’s sole vendor in India. However, Apple aims to expand its manufacturing infrastructure by potentially doubling its casing facility. The company’s existing collaborations in India include major players like Foxconn, Pegatron, and Wistron, with Tata Electronics recently acquiring a significant stake.
In a related development, Foxconn has secured approval for substantial investments in Karnataka, totaling Rs 8,000 crore, with plans for an additional investment of Rs 13,911 crore. This expansion aligns with Foxconn’s broader strategy, as reported by Business Standard.
Furthermore, Financial Times (FT) highlights Foxconn’s plans to establish worker dormitories in Tamil Nadu, a move aimed at ramping up manufacturing capabilities. Scheduled for 2024, Foxconn’s subsidiary FIT is slated to inaugurate a facility near Hyderabad’s airport to produce Apple’s AirPods. This site is expected to include accommodations for its workforce, mirroring Foxconn’s established practices in China and Vietnam.
